How we verify

Five checks before a candidate reaches your shortlist, and a person, not a model, assigns the English level.

The problem this solves

Remote hiring across borders has an impersonation problem. It is documented, and it is the reason Dexee verifies before presenting, not after an offer.

  • 35% of 3,000 US hiring managers said someone other than the listed applicant took part in a virtual interview, and 23% reported losses above USD 50,000 in the past year from hiring or identity fraud.

  • Gartner projects that by 2028 one in four candidate profiles worldwide will be fake.

  • Reported losses from job and employment-agency scams in the United States rose from USD 90 million in 2020 to USD 501 million in 2024.

How we verify

  1. Check 1

    Identity

The candidate joins a live video session and shows a government ID. The reviewer compares the document with the person on the call and with the face that appears in the recorded English answers.

    Produces
Verified or not verified, with the date of the session
    Decided by
    A Dexee reviewer in Barranquilla
  2. Check 2

    Spoken English

The candidate records answers to unseen questions under a timer. The model pre-scores fluency, coherence, lexical range and grammatical accuracy out of five each. A reviewer then listens to the recordings and assigns the final level.

    Produces
A CEFR level from A1 to C2, with the four rubric scores
    Decided by
A human reviewer. The model only pre-scores
  3. Check 3

    Written English

A timed assessment with multiple-choice items and a written response, scored on the server. The answer key never reaches the browser, so the score cannot be reverse-engineered from the page.

    Produces
A CEFR level and the raw score
    Decided by
Server-side scoring, reviewed when the two parts disagree
  4. Check 4

    Work profiles

Two short instruments on public models: the Big Five with ten remote-work situations, and a four-factor DISC-style profile. Both describe how the person prefers to work.

    Produces
Band descriptors per factor and a primary style
    Decided by
Deterministic scoring. Never used to rank or reject
  5. Check 5

    Fit against the role

The candidate's resume is read with contact data and protected attributes removed, then compared with the role brief, the profile and the valid results. Each applicant gets a score, a summary, strengths and gaps.

    Produces
A ranked shortlist for the company: top 3 and top 5
    Decided by
A model, as a recommendation. The company decides whom to interview

What a model on its own cannot do

An automated screen can score a transcript. It cannot tell you whether the person on the call is the person who will do the work. A Dexee reviewer sits on the identity session, listens to the recorded answers and signs the final CEFR level. Where the reviewer disagrees with the model, the reviewer wins and the report says so.

  • Identity is checked on a live call, against the same face that appears in the recorded answers.
  • The reviewer can move the English level up or down, and the report records who decided.
  • Answer keys stay on the server, so a candidate cannot read them from the page.
  • A report is issued once per candidate and dated, so you know how fresh it is.
